About Us

Kaine, who is the owner and executive chef for Secret Chef Catering, developed his initial skills and love of cooking with the freshest ingredients growing up along the East Coast of Australia. He commenced his chefs apprenticeship in Adelaide and in his first year was recognised by TAFE as the ‘most improved chef student’. For the remainder of his apprenticeship he returned to Sydney where he was an apprentice chef in various quality restaurants, enhancing his skills in Mediterranean cuisine.
As a qualified chef he landed a position at the highly awarded and regarded Café Sydney. During his 6 years at Café Sydney, he quickly moved up the chef ranks to become their Sous Chef which entailed being in charge of the day to day running of the extremely busy kitchen concentrating on catering to a large restaurant.

To develop his passion and cuisine knowledge he was offered a position as Senior Sous Chef for Longrain which has 2 hats. Kaine spent 3 years developing his zest and appreciation of Asian cuisine. Kaine and his new wife Jade moved to the Northern Rivers as they both felt that this area offered so much fresh local produce. He soon became the executive chef for Byron Beach Café which was awarded “best small business” in Australia within 12 months of him being the head chef.

Since leaving the Beach Café, to develop Secret Chef Catering he is always in high demand in the local area to be contracted as a chef for various restaurants and catering events in the Byron Bay surrounds. Once again to cater to his passion of local ingredients is currently working with Northern Rivers Seafood and liaising with several other local chefs for their fresh seafood requirements.

Kaine is determined that Secret Chef Catering, will always utilise the freshest local ingredients. So much so that Kaine and his wife, Jade, have bought a small farm in the local area to enable them to grow some of the local produce to be used in Secret Chef Catering cuisine.

Secret Chef Catering looks forward to catering and presenting dishes that embrace the various cuisines developed over years of experience and delivered to where ever your special event is.
